FRIENDS OF THE BAYLEY HOUSE MEETING

The meeting was called to order at 7:15 p.m and was held at the home of Aloha Adams. In attendance were: John Crane, Jaime Tafoya, Colleen Moore, Kris Syversen, Larry Syversen, Rich Meagher and Aloha Adams.

Minutes: The minutes were read and approved with the correction that it had been reported at the prior meeting that the GDRD had budgeted $2,000 for concrete work in the storage area of the barn.

Officer Reports: Treasurer Adams reported a bank balance of $2143.66. President, John Crane reported that GDRD has a contract with the State, which allows for eight years to spend the $140,000. It was also reported that El Dorado County's contract has an original spend date of June 2004, but that it is a flexible date.

Old Business:

-The Appreciation Party/Pep Rally date was moved to April 7th. Munchies, beer and wine will be served. Rich Meagher will also assist in developing a data base of all past participants, attendees and donors to invite to the event. He will also develop a PowerPoint presentation for the event.

-The 3rd Annual Barn Sale will be held on Saturday, May 1st. Aloha Adams volunteered to chair the event, as she will not be here to assist with the July Dance Party.

-Aloha Adams reported that she had sent an article to the Gazette regarding the Lillian Lafaille book. It was MSC (Meagher/Adams) that we offer a 10% discount to retail locations that would buy the book outright. It was agreed that if the books were placed on consignment, there would be no discount.

-Jaime Tafoya reported that Mick Martin has contacted him regarding participation in the July 10th Concert/Dance party. After discussion, it was agreed he would contact Blues Box Bayou to see if they were willing to share the event and request that each band play for 2 hours, starting at 7:00 p.m.

-Colleen Moore reported that she had attended the History Network meeting and that she would also attend the next meeting on February 18th. She also reported that FOBH could sign up to host an EDC Bingo night and could earn up to $1200 for the night. It was agreed to pursue this as an additional fund-raiser.

New Business:

-It was MSC (Meagher/Tafoya) that we pursue the opportunity to sell FOBH merchandise on the website. Rich Meagher volunteered to develop costs for shipping and handling so that the prices be posted on the website. Kris and Larry Syversen volunteered to take digital photos of the merchandise to be posted on the website.

-Jaime Tafoya recommended that FOBH join the newly formed Divide Chamber of Commerce. He will research it and present information at the next meeting.

Action Items for Next Meeting:

-Rich to develop shipping and handling costs for selling merchandise on the website

-Rich to develop data base of prior participants and Power Point presentation

-Jaime will talk with Hindquarter regarding food and contact the bands for the Concert

-Jaime will check out membership in the Divide Chamber of Commerce

-Colleen will attend 2/18 meeting of History Network and will check regarding bingo

-Aloha will contact Cloverdale regarding Fiddle Contest

-John to check on contractor requirements for concrete work
