El Dorado County Search & Rescue is an all-volunteer arm of the Sheriff's Office, with more than 150 members covering the west slope of the Sierra Nevadas and the Lake Tahoe Basin in California. Since our territory includes popular foothill and alpine terrain (as shown above), we maintain a variety of units and teams. These volunteers are of various ages, genders, backgrounds, and skill levels, all dedicated to saving lives by expending themselves in Search & Rescue.
